dll error on ytkenhance

Please help me regarding this error. Whenever i try to open YTKE it gives me the error but the messenger still opens.
OS: Windows XP MC Edition SP3
1G Ram
3.85Mhz

right  click the desktop icon  and  then  go to compatibility  and  then check the box  that says run as administrator and  then restart ytk-enhanced

I've had exactly the same problem, but..
I just bought ytk today..installed it and was working fine in chat etc... but then I needed to reboot my laptop, and on reboot I got the dllreg error. Yahoo wouldn't load and guess what the lil ytk icon is unresponsive. It won't let me right click on it to do anything. I opened up task manager and it didn't show there so I couldn't close it that way. Only way to get the icon off the running programs box was to reboot my computer, which in turn caused it to load up again, error again, and freeze itself and yahoo again.

So I deleted ytk completely off my system, rebooted, got rid of the folder, tried to re-install but it wouldn't ask me for my reg key again even though I'd deleted everything and had to go back to your site and re-download ytk again. Should it not have asked me for my key again?

ps: I also tried downloading it from the link in the email first..a couple of times. It loaded up fine...then I'd get the error again when I tried to log in. Helppppp lol

yeah I figured it out with the help of my bf.. re-installed and before I ran it I went to the desktop icon and set it through there..working now.....kind of

I am getting the same dll error.  I have tried all the suggestions above including uninstalling and reinstalling, with no luck.  Any help would be greatly appreciated! ???  Got YTK yesterday and was only able to use it to follow the tutorial for set-up.

You have to run YTK Enhanced as an administrator.

Yes when logging in as administrator, I am able to get the YTK Control Panel, by right clicking the icon on the task bar, but messenger never comes up automatically, when I start messenger up manually, it does not have any YTK Enhanced features on chat menu.  When I first installed YTK, it would bring up the yahoo log in window with YTK Enhanced as an option on the menu.  Will try any suggestions.  Thanks!

Right click the YTK desktop icon and click "Run as administrator".

Also make sure YTK is allowed through your firewall.

Ran as administrator, and added to the firewall allowed program list.  The YTK program runs and I get an icon at the task bar along with access to control panel, global ignore, safe, catcher list etc., but does not tie into yahoo at all.  Yahoo messenger log-in does not come up so i can not log-in using YTK, then when I manually start yahoo, it is not associated with YTK at all.  Yahoo runs by itself.  I can send a screenshots if you'd like.

I think the route cause is McAfee. A few of the users on this forum have had issues with McAfee.

One other thing to check would be to do the following;

Press the Windows key + R
Type regedit click OK followed by Yes on the User Account Control window
Locate HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\YTKE
On the right side look for YMPath near the bottom
Right click YMPath, Click Modify, Under Value Data enter the path C:\Program Files\Yahoo!\Messenger\YahooMessenger.exe and click OK. (For Windows 64 bit it would be C:\Program Files (x86)\Yahoo!\Messenger\YahooMessenger.exe )

Then try YTK Enhanced again and see if Yahoo! Messenger loads.

Followed your exact instructions, under Current User/Software/YTKE on the right side in YMPath it already had the 64 bit line you wanted me to use exactly as you told me to modify.  Hate to be a pain, but would like to use the program.

I would definitely say McAfee is causing your issues. Some of our members have successfully setup McAfee to allow YTK Enhanced to connect.

Is there trust control for programs in McAfee? Sorry I am not very familiar with McAfee.

I uninstalled McAfee completely, cleaned registry using a utility registry cleaner, and tried running YTK without any antivirus installed. Windows firewall disabled as well.  Same problem, does not open the Yahoo log-in box.  I then installed ESET Smart Security Version 4.2.71.2, and I then uninstalled YTK Enhanced and deleted all remnants. Ran the utility registry cleaner again. Then I stopped the ESET anti-virus and firewall (and Windows Firewall) parts of  the program and downloaded YTK again from the website. I then tried a clean install of YTK again.  Again same issue. I shut down YTK and I started Yahoo and got the log-in window and I right clicked on YTK and ran as administrator and i get the YTK Icon on the task bar, it doesn't tell me that YTK sees Yahoo running, to shut it down before starting YTK.  Its like it doesn't even associate that yahoo is even there, with or without Yahoo log-in window.  :-\
